I’m absolutely thrilled to share that Odd Girl Out has been shortlisted for the Diverse Book Awards!
It’s such an honour to see the book recognised alongside so many brilliant books and authors. Huge congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted – I’m delighted to be part of such an inspiring group of writers and stories who are committed to diversifying literature.
Thanks to books like Odd Girl Out and the other nominations, young people are finally able to pick up a book and see something of themselves in its pages. But I also write diverse stories, because I want readers to discover and empathise with lives and experiences that might be different from their own.
Books can make us feel seen. They can make us feel understood. And sometimes, finding the right story at the right moment can make all the difference.
